Massachusetts songwriter/singer/recording artist JESSE STERLING HARRISON brings together alt-rock, folk, blues and classic rock influences to create story-songs of surprising musical depth. Harrison is a prolific writer and recorder and has two recent releases, What it Sounds Like (solo acoustic, 2006) and Jackhammer Soul (full-band grooves, 2008).

Harrison is a musical journeyman who has played three different instruments in several bands, notable as lead guitarist for HECTOR and electric bassist for PRODUCT 19, and worked as a session guitarist and singer, cd mastering engineer, concert promoter and songwriter. His song "half on the way" was recent convered by GREGG YETI AND THE BEST LIGHTS.

On this year's JACKHAMMER SOUL, Harrison's 12th solo recording, moods swing from bluesy swagger to defiant rock to tragic folk, with the consistent presence of his bracing guitar work and very intimate vocal style. Harrison is currently working with a trio including PETER IRVINE (Cordelia's Dad) and JOSIAH ERIKSON (Born Backward) and preparing for local and regional gigs. He's also in the planning stages for a set of new recordings of his older songs, not yet available on the web.

When not playing, he focuses on his two children, running a small business, and scheming to purchase a small farm.
