Raffaele Diomaiuto Website

Raffaele Diomaiuto is an Italian guitar player, living in mainly in Hollywood. Now 26, he has played guitar since he was 14. Raffaele has been studying in Italy and Spain and in the U.S in Los Angeles. While attending GIT he won the Stanley Clarke Scholarship, capturing the first prize, playng with his jazz fusion trio.

Raffaele Diomaiuto was born and raised in Southern Italy. While growing up he watched and listened to some of the greatest bands of all time such as Guns & Roses, Aerosmith, and many other great hair bands of the 80's.

When Raffaele was 16 years old, his father gave him a classic guitar but he did not even start to use it until 9 months later.  One day while at a friends house, all these guys he knew started to play their guitars and make incredible music Raffaele had only heard on CD's before and that is what inspired the young guitar player to learn more.

After asking his father to buy a electric guitar he was told to play the classsic guitar that he already had and that is what lead to the development of Raffaele as a guitar player.  The idea of expressing your soul through sound was an inspiration and after 6 months, he got his first electric guitar, an Ibanez RGX. From that point forward things had gone well for Raffaele, or so he thought.

It was not until he saw a DVD of G3, and I realized how incredible Joe Satriani and Steve Vai were before he finally realized how much he had to push himself to achieve the excellence of musicianship attained by such six string greats.

In summer 2008 Raffaele toured the U.S.Southeast with the band Mighty Mcfly as session guitarist then moved to London at the beginning of 2009. He stayed there until the end of the summer then moved back to Italy to  to write and start to record his first solo album called So Far. So Far was recorded in 3 days in the beautiful Play Wawe Recording Studio.

The Trio for the session had former Greg Howe drummer Gianluca Palmieri on drums and Guerino Rondolone on Bass. Gianluca was also at The Musicians Institute while Raffaele attended. Once the album was complete Raffaele went to L.A, to promote it and play some shows. This May he moved back to Europe and currently resides in Amsterdam. Raffaele also teaches guitarlessons at The Guitar Academy (http://www.guitaracademy.nl).

If you listen to the tracks on  Raffaele's EPK you will begin to realize how far he has come and the potential that he has to become the immaculate musician he so much wants to be. With these tracks he has a great start!
