Mix tapes are always a great way to sample a lot of different talented artists.
Sev Seveer presents T-Roy’s Deli is no exception. This brilliant showcase of talent really does bring some talented individuals to light.
B!G J of Heroes for Hire’s track “Wrapper of the Year” is a brilliant track with strong deep vocals which reminds me of Notorious B.I.G.
One bad thing about this record is the problem that in my opinion plagues nearly all of Hip Hop, the constant need for producers and rappers to remind you who you are listening to.
At the start and end of each track a sample proclaiming that this is a Sev Seveer production. This does distract from the tracks somewhat.
Ignoring that, the production is spot on. It is clear that the tracks are very well put together and the beats sound great, they go together perfectly with the flow and lyrics of the rappers.
The whole mix tape is a solid collection of tracks and all complement each other very well. If you love Hip Hop then this is a must for any collection.
