Will
Be Here For You

Will is Will Miller, a song crafter, vocalist, an artist firmly entrenched in the genre of R & B and Pop music. On Be Here For You, his second solo album, he shows why he is a rapidly rising star in the world of indies.
This type of music is not high on my list for daily listening so it takes something that is very good to get me to listen to an entire CD. Will was able to accomplish that for me and I must say right from the start that I heard a talent that caught my ear. His voice is very smooth and soulful, filled with personality and rhythm, the kind of sound that everyone wants to hear when the R & B is cranking on the boom boxes, iPods or car stereo systems (whatever the various configurations may be). This is not in your face brash street loud music, it has character, feeling, and an all around class that will find appreciation from ears that like to understand the vocals and enjoy a nice pocket of groove to melt into while listening. In other words, Will has it going on.
The subject matter is typical-love, life, and the pursuit of happiness…what else is worth singing about that would not have some kind of “politically correct” ramifications attached to it? Will does a nice job making you feel like he is sincere and the man knows how to use his talent in a positive way. Therefore, many things were on the positive side of the ledger for me on this recording.
What I found a bit odd was that there were no musician credits with the explanations to the songs in the CD sleeve. He gave plenty of thank you’s and mentions Joel Dean and his guitar playing. Other than that miscue from my perspective, this is a solid release. I also enjoyed the Spanish speaking variations on the classic track “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” and “No Te Alejes De Mi.” Ami Ortiz does many of the backup vocals and does a superb job with it; she gave the album a nice finishing touch.
