Kenneith Perrin’s Life Adventure EP is the follow up to his 2007 debut release It Took So Long. This six track EP features a healthy mix of rock, pop, and R&B with some soul added in for good measure. It is an interesting collection of songs with an emotional, spiritual, and uplifting message behind them all.
The first thing that will catch you attention is Perrin’s soothing and melodic “Deep Dreams,” which opens the EP. His voice is unique and distinct and I like it. I cannot think of anyone that Kenneith reminds of on this track. The song starts off slow, but begins to pick up when the chorus is heard for the first time, making for a smashing song. Starting off with a monologue, “All The Blessings Flow” has a nice groove to it that makes it the type of song that you can really move to. Changing up the tempo with a dramatic slow down, “Colors” is the song that Perrin really shines on. His vocals are front and center on this one with only a little input from background singers. I am sure that people will enjoy the positive message of the song.
The energetic and passionate “Everything” picks the EP right back up. Next up is the very short “The Way It Goes.” With a run time of less than ninety seconds, the song is basically an interlude, a throwaway track almost. An EP is too short to have a throwaway track on it. I think that this song is out of place and is better suited on a full length album where interludes are better suited. The EP comes to an end with “Higher (Remix).” It is a jamming song and it has a great beat that had me listening to it over and over again, ending this EP on a positive note.
Kenneith Perrin’s Life Adventure EP should get fans psyched for a full-length album. It has a variety of musical styles that range from pop to R&B with a great voice to cap it all off. Despite that throwaway track, it would not hurt to give this one a listen because this EP is a solid effort.
